This bridge over the Eau Claire River was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s as part of Teddy Roosevelt’s plan for the US to climb out of its economic depression by providing employment opportunities.
This painting was inspired by a Matt Froeming photo taken along the Eau Claire River Segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
