The land of enchantment

I spent a week in Santa Fe, New Mexico attending a MISA-hosted workshop on color and composition by Susan Abbott. The workshop included in-studio exercises, museum visits, and outdoor sketching and painting. So energizing to be immersed in art for a week. And Susan was a pleasure to spend time with. She challenged us to look at things in a different way and offered helpful feedback on our work.

My favorite part of the workshop was the time we spent sketching at Abiquiú (where Georgia O’Keeffe lived). The assignment was to draw sketches on site, focusing on compositions that we would then paint later.
